::: SFB-Workshop: Demographic Risk

::: General Idea

Bring together Ph.D. students and junior researchers from the fields of statistics, economics and demographics to discuss in a familiar atmosphere, but on a high quantitative level, challenges arising from the uncertainty regarding demographic developments. Participants benefit both from lectures by internationally renowned keynote speakers and from presenting their current projects to an interdisciplinary audience.

::: Registration

Participants have to register per email until November 15, 2009 (katja.hanewald@wiwi.hu-berlin.de). The participation fee is 50 €, it includes coffee and lunches on both days, as well as the conference dinner. Three travel grants à 250 € will be awarded.

These descriptions are intended to provide participants of the “SFB-Workshop: Demographic Risk” assistance in finding the Allianz SE Building, the workshop venue, and the restaurant Bötzow Privat, the conference dinner place.

The workshop is organized by the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Chair for Insurance and Risk Management, Chair of Statistics) and the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS), Berlin.

::: Accommodation recommendations

There are several hotels suggested by the CRC 649 which you can find here here.

Guests of Humboldt-Universität receive a discounted price at selected hotels, please inform the hotel staff that you are attending a workshop at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and ask for the university's special rate.

We can recommend the Park Inn Hotel at Berlin Alexanderplatz. Its a 10 minutes bus ride from there to the workshop's venue at Pariser Platz.

The baxpax hostel is situated close to the Pariser Platz as well.
